ECEC Value 2: Valuing children as inherently worthy of respect, dignity, agency, and autonomy without conditions or rewards.

🫡When did we decide that respect was something a four-year-old had to demonstrate before we extended it to them? That autonomy was a privilege for children who complied first?

📊This is not a radical idea. It is a foundational one. And it is one our systems routinely violate through behavior charts, compliance culture, and environments designed for control rather than belonging.

💯I believe children deserve respect, dignity, agency, and autonomy without conditions or rewards. Not as an ideal. As a daily practice.

🙋🏿‍♀️When did children have to earn dignity?

🚸Children are not worthy of dignity because they sat still, followed directions, or met a benchmark. They are worthy because they are human. Full stop.
